Do I have to have experience in marketing?

While it is preferable to demonstrate marketing ability through experience, it is just as important to demonstrate marketing aptitude during the interview process. We are looking for candidates who will, with confidence and passion, be prepared to approach parents, teachers and children in order to market and sell Explore Learning with the aim of increasing the centre’s membership.

Do I need to have professional experience working with children?

We are ideally looking for any kind of experience working with children, but this may have been in a voluntary capacity or part time. We will be looking for you to demonstrate an ability to communicate with and motivate children.

Does the location of your interview determine where you will be offered a job?

No. We try and arrange centre interviews to be held in the most convenient centre for you, which may not necessarily be the location that you hope to work in.

How long does the recruitment process take?

The length of processing is dependent on your flexibility and availability for interview and centre availability. We endeavour to put people through and notify them as quickly as possible. We hold centre interviews on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We currently hold at least two Assessment Days every month.

Am I able to defer my application or start date so that I can travel for 6- 12 months?

Yes you can, Explore open centres throughout the year although your start date will obviously impact on location availability according to our centre recruitment needs. You can defer your entry for a maximum of 12 months.

Do you reimburse travel expenses for interviews/ assessment centres?

Our policy is not to refund travel expenses. If you are having any difficulties funding your travel then feel free to contact us before you attend your interview.

We are registered with Ofsted on the Voluntary Childcare Register. We register with Ofsted:

• To ensure child health & safety whilst in our care.
• To allow us to continually improve best practice.

Sainsbury’s are our landlords in many of our centres. They have no ownership interests in Explore Learning and we simply lease space from them. That said, they are extremely supportive and we view them as a key partner. They are keen for us to open more centres next to, and within their supermarkets.

The relationship does not prevent us opening in other locations; we have opened centres in Tesco and have many stand-alone centres in locations such as Cabot Circus and Bradley Stoke in Bristol, Ruislip, Lakeside, Walton, Borehamwood, High Cross in Leicester, Purley and Westfield London.
