Seize the Summer

Community Workshop

Wednesday June 6th, 2018
All Explore Horizons Locations – Free to Attend

It can take up to 2 months from the first day of school in the Fall for a student to get mentally back on track. How do you help your children stay active over the summer?

Join Explore Horizons as we prepare you and your child to beat that summer learning loss and maintain their mental fitness!

How do I avoid the summer slide?

Research has shown that nearly two thirds of students fall behind in their studies over summer break. We’ve got a solution for you.

Beat the Summer Slide (Grades K-8) 4:30-5:30PM

Learning doesn’t have to stop just because the school year has ended. This math, reading and writing workshop will motivate your child to keep their learning going this summer.

Summer Learning Parent Seminar 7:00-8:00PM

Come along to our parent seminar to gather top tips on how you can maximize your child’s summer and help them get ahead before the new semester has begun.

Reading and math for life

Whether your child is struggling in these areas or looking for an additional challenge, we have a way to ensure students see academic principles at the root of real life challenges.

Reading Comprehension (Grades 2-5) 3:00-4:00PM

This inspring, skills based workshop will provide your child with tools and strategies to help them improve their reading for meaning and textual analysis.

Worded Math Problems (Grades 2-5) 6:00-7:00PM

One of the best ways to make math fun and engaging is by teaching students to appreciate word problems as miniature problem solving challenges that reflect real world situations. This appreciation ensures math skills find their way into every child’s worldview.

How do we support TEXAS Curriculum year-round?

We know that STAAR and test times can be stressful for students and parents; but do not worry, we are here to help families all year round! Our members know that STAAR test preparation is essential for ensuring future academic success, however we don’t want your child’s only learning goal for the year to be passing these tests.  That’s why, year-round, our personalized TEKS-aligned curriculum supports students with the skills required to be successful in the STAAR tests. We are also the only tutoring center to offer a stress-free, effective, and totally-Texas focused preparation course which is free for all members and runs from January to April. Alongside our focused STAAR support, our mission is to create fearless learners in all areas of math, reading, and writing. Our unique learning environment provides a whole range of curriculum to challenge and inspire your child with skills that go beyond the test.

What is the community saying about Explore Horizons?

Explore Horizons are the best learning centers in the DFW metroplex by far. My son was not working at his grade level before he started. He was also struggling to pass a private school exam to get admitted. The managers and tutors from the Garland location are the best!! They helped him so much that he is now working at grade level. Not only that, but he passed the exam with the help of the Explore Horizons team! Thank you so much you guys!! I totally recommend it to everyone..what are you waiting for? Mr Rashid – Garland Dad

Explore Horizons is the best!!! I’ve seen so much growth in my boys. The people here are amazing!!! Look no further if you want to give your children the educational advantage.

Marcus Richard

My son was not that good at reading, but with only a few classes at Explore Horizons,  he was able to achieve  “Commended” in his staar test.

Minaz Cell – Colleyville mom

We believe all families should have access to the resources they need for their child to succeed.

That’s why we offer our Community Open Days to give families free resources. Come see us on April 25th at a center near you:
